From a Participant to a Facilitator

Well, the title itself must have given you a clue on what this article is going to be about. Yes, it's all about my transformation from a participant in VIP 05 to a volunteer@facilitator in VIP 06...!!! I still remember the day I was a participant in VIP 05 and enjoyed all the sessions and activities conducted by The Sessionists. I also learned many new things about volunteering and about being an efficacious and effective facilitator. Being a proactive, effective and outgoing volunteer is the prominent thing that I had learned from VIP 05.

I am proud to be a part of VIP 06, but this time as a volunteer. It escalated too quickly, right? I know. When I had the chance to be a volunteer in it, I immediately locked my dates for this big event. My first VIP 06 as a volunteer was held in Sentral Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, for the central region. On the day of the event, I had another event in my university which was called as Nadaga Chudar, where my bestie Hema, and I performed a classical dance as a gimic performance. Once done with it, we both rushed ourselves to KL just only to be a part of this exciting event.

Once we reached there, we were welcomed by The Sessionists and also other volunteers from HQ with a BIG and welcoming heart. Though we both were tired after all the rush and travelling, we still enjoyed the event with full of energy as we had a new experience by being a volunteer where once we were a participant. We assisted Ms Anita and Mr Jerry for all their sessions with the participants. The two days taught us many new things of being a volunteer, this is purely because, when we were the participants in VIP 05, we were just listening and participating in the sessions done, but this time, we had a great opportunity to apply the things that we had learned before for our participant. Great isn't it? As always we took many many photographs( u guys know about me right?) and yes, we had a marvelous time together where learning and experiencing took place together at the same time. It was really happy for us to receive such positive responses from the participants as they said we really helped them a lot and they wish to be engaging and enjoying volunteers like us, SEE like US...That sounds really cool and awesome right? I really felt proud when some of them personally thanked us and wished us luck being a great volunteer. Central Region was awesome indeed. Now let's see how the Gunung Jerai gonna welcome us for the next VIP...you don't understand? yes, we are going as the volunteers@facilitators for the Northern Region VIP 06 which will be held in Gunung Jerai Regency Hill Resort...Hopefully, it will be as best as the Central Region.
