Well, it is time for some other volunteer to talk about their volunteering life and I found one active and young volunteer from Sultan Idris Education University, Miss Jhanani to talk about her volunteering life. Grab a snack and enjoy reading our chit chat.
M : Hello Miss Jhanani, Hope you are doing well in your university as well as volunteering life.
J : Hey there Miss Mini. Great to see you healthy and active in volunteering life as well miss.
M : Thank you for letting me to disturb you to interview you for my blog about volunteering. Well, shall we start now Miss?
J : Of course, you may start whenever you are ready Miss.
M : Ok then, I will start now. How was the feeling when the first time you volunteered for an event?
J : It was totally amazing and to say the truth, it was eye opening for me. This is because I had the faintest idea of being a volunteer for any event and how it would be. Hence, this volunteering experience was extremely fun and exciting.
M : May I kindly know what was the first volunteering experience of yours Miss Jhanani?
J : Well, my very first experience of being a volunteer...when I was 15 years old, my music class friends and I went to an old folks home and we were asked to do a performance to entertain the people in that home. At first I thought it was just only for performance, but when we reached that home, we realised what it feels to be a volunteer. After my performance, I went to some of the elderly people over there and talked to them which really touched my heart because what they said I still remember, “we do not want people to sponsor food or money, but we just want people to come and see us so that we could share some love as well,” Oh My Goodness, that really made me to be in tears. Since then I started to be active in volunteering activities. First memory, first experience was really unforgettable and amazing.
M : That was really a good and touching experience Miss. Well, in your opinion, what do you think about volunteering?
J : Volunteering...generally it is a noble thing as not everyone could be a volunteer or do volunteering. Only those who are truly committed to it can be engaged with this volunteering life. Besides that, one must be ready to sacrifice his or her time, money, and other important stuff when one is ready to be a volunteer. Willing to sacrifice is the utmost quality one must have to be a volunteer. Volunteering also helps me to practice more patience and politeness because as a person I really lack in both of the qualities. Thanks to my volunteering life for moulding me into a whole new person.
M : That was a brief and clear explanation miss. Thanks a lot. Could you please tell us on your best volunteering experience Miss Jhanani?
J : Best volunteering experience would be the latest event that I volunteered myself to be a helper. The event is actually a workshop conducted under an NGO named EWRF which stands for Educational Welfare and Research Foundation Malaysia. The workshop is actually to train the facilitators of the programs that are being conducted by the Foundation and it is named as Master Training Of Trainers Phase II 2016 in Grand Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Wow, that was a great and good experience as I learned many new things. Along with that, we had many funny moments as well as tiring ones too. Overall, this was the best experience I had in my volunteering life.
M : I bet that was extremely fun Miss. We have come to an end for our interview session for today miss, but before we call it a day, one last question Miss. What would you like to tell to our youngsters on being a volunteer?
J : Do not afraid to take risk in being a volunteer as it will teach one many new things in one’s life. Besides that, being a volunteer will teach one to explore the real world and to enjoy every moment in their life, so dear young ones out there, involve yourself in volunteering activities and I guarantee you guys that it will change you to be a whole new person. That’s all I guess.
M : Thank you so much for spending your time with me and sharing many new things about your volunteering life miss. This will really help the young ones like me in being a volunteer. Have a great day ahead Miss and May god bless you always Miss.
J : You too Miss Mini. Have fun being a volunteer.
